Frequently Asked Questions
Are we on
the beach?
Technically,
yes, because there are no buildings or roads between
our complex and the beach. There is a five
minute walk, but that ensures that once you are
there, no buildings will spoil the view.
We consider the walk a feature. It crosses a
small estuary on the way where one can almost always
spot egrets, herons, or spoonbills feeding. An
osprey nest is nearby and they can always be seen
circling. Occasionally, safely down in the
water, a gator will make an
appearance.
What is the
weather like?
From December
through March it is typically in the 70s 80s
during the day and around 60 at night. Light
jackets at night are good to have during these
months. From March through November it is typically
in the 80s 90s during the day and 70s at
night. The skies are mostly sunny with a short
tropical rain occasionally in the late afternoon.
The summer months tend to be more humid, although
between air conditioning and the pool and beach, it
is easy to be comfortable.
How long do I
need to stay?
The rentals are
most commonly by the week. If your needs are other
than weekly, talk to us and we may be able to
accommodate a different length of stay.
How to I make
the booking?
Please
contact us
via this website and let us know what you are
looking for. We can confirm availability of the
apartment and put you in touch with the rental desk.
What if the
week I want does not seem to be available?
Still
contact us.
We will try to find an available time that works for
you; if we cannot, we can contact the other owners
at blind pass and find another apartment for you.
How many
people can stay at E210?
The apartment can
sleep six comfortably including use of the sleep
sofas. If extended families or friends want to
vacation together, you could look into renting two
units. It can be a fun and easy way to
vacation together.
How much
ahead do I need to book?
The high season
(winter) tends to book six months to a year ahead.
The other seasons have more flexibility, however we
intend to keep E210 booked throughout the year, so
let us know your plans!
What
do I need to bring?
Only your
personal belongings clothing and toiletries. There
is an excellent grocery store about four miles
away. We supply a starter kit of soap, dish
detergent, trash bags and laundry detergent, but
there typically are not spices and condiments in the
kitchen, nor any food stocked when you arrive. Most
people plan on a grocery store run shortly after
they arrive.
How far are
you from the nearest airport and which airport is
that?
We are 45
minutes from the Southwest Florida International
Airport (airport code RSW) in Ft. Myers. There are
rental car agencies at the airport and directions to
Sanibel are straightforward. Note that there is a
$6 toll to get onto the island this is to help pay
for the beautiful new causeway that takes you onto
the island.
What is the
parking situation?
There is one
covered parking spot provided for you, designated
for E210. These spots are marked and easily
located. If you have guests visit while you are
there, there are several spots marked Guest that
are for that purpose. There are no parking lots;
the presence of automobiles at Blind Pass is
remarkably understated.
What is your
refund policy if we need to cancel?
We will direct
you to the Blind Pass rental office for those
details, but usually if they are able to rebook your
week, you will only forfeit the deposit fee of $35.
Can we rebook
for the following year while we are there?
Yes, by all
means. You can arrange this at the rental office
(next to the pool) while you are there, or you can
contact us or Blind Pass whenever you are ready.
Can we email
you with comments or suggestions for improvements?
Yes! By all
means. We intend our home to be a comfortable and
happy place for all who stay there and we welcome
your suggestions. |
